Argos Want to Play at BMO?

According to Sportsnet.ca, apparently the Argos are contemplating the issue...which I think would be terrrible.

Hosting any sport other then soccer at BMO field while TFC is still in there would be terrible. Knowing how cheap they are (i.e. the fake turf at BMO Field) they will just paint the American Football gridiron over the soccer pitch lines. I don't know about you guys, but that just looks terrible when you try to watch the game. Just look at the NYC team (I refuse to call them by their silly corporate name).

Cheers

Cheap-Deal-Reneging-Argos Should Play on the Street

It was the argos who backed out to the original TFC/Argo/YorkU stadium deal. Now that TFC/CSA/BMO built the splendid "soccer specific" stadium, they suddenly see the light? Absolute lunacy. The argo's chose to be homeless so they should play in the street.

Sadly, knowing MLSE and their thirst for money and front office political circle jerk, it will only be a matter of time before we see the gridiron on the BMO soccer pitch. I hope that won't happen, but MLSE would try to get as much money as possible out of their investment without much regard for what the fans want.

And it's true about the Argos killing the previous stadium plan by pulling out of the deal last minute because they got a better deal from Ted Rodgers. They should stick with that "better deal".

As an English man i witnessed this at Wembley. The NFL came over for one game, tore up the Wembley turf and made it totally unplayable for professional football.

Also Wigan Athletic share their pitch with a rugby club, to much the same effect. infact i think that there is a silly statistic knocking about somewhere that teams that ground share with non football teams do worse at home over that period of time.

I dont know what the situation is with your field over there, but if its trusted for the Canadian national team, and an All-Star game surely it would be better not to ruin it?

Well guys, looks like there is some talk about moving the Argos from Rogers Center to BMO Field See the thread below:

http://www.kickabola.com/showthread.php?t=10345

http://www.mls-rumors.net/2008/05/st...-expanded.html
(Don’t mind some of that famous childish attitude towards anything non-American on some of the responses in this article)

I also heard on FSC TV tonight that the deal between the City of Toronto, MLSE and the ARGOS is already done, but I can't confirm this because I was loosing my mind when I head it and I can't find it in writing anywhere. There should be more details to this surfacing if there is any truth to it. Leave it to politicians and corporate entities to do what's best for the fans.

This could be real possibility that will kill the atmosphere at BMO which was created as a Soccer Specific Stadium (SSS). And I really love the European/South American atmosphere. That field will look like ass

Go TFC... I guess
